Using:

Sage

To sage your cards you will need to ignite the sage and then blow out the flame allowing it to smoulder. Once the sage is smouldering use the smoke to cleanse yourself. Once this is done you can hold the deck within your hands and once again use the smoke to release any energy from within them. Visualize the smoke removing any energies form the cards. Place the sage below the cards and allow the smoke to rise around the deck, you can rotate the deck and visualise the cleaning and purification seeping into the cards.

Incense

Choose an incense that has blessing or cleansing properties. Ignite your incense and then blow out the flame, allowing it to smoulder. Use the incense to cleanse yourself before picking up your tarot deck. Whilst holding your deck, use the smoke in clockwise motions and visualise the purification seeping into the cards. You can rotate the deck within your hand so that the smoke reaches all of the cards.

Salt

Wrap your cards within cloth and bury it within salt. You will need to leave it for one whole day and one whole night – this way the cards will be cleansed with both masculine and feminine energies. #

Full Moon Bathing

Place your tarot cards on your window seal or any place where the full moon’s light will be able to reach them. Be careful if you wish to leave your cards outside as it could rain – so be mindful and always check the weather first. The full moon has great power and emphasises on all invocations.

New Moon Bathing

Place your tarot cards on your window seal or any place where the full moon’s light will be able to reach them. The new moon offers a lot of banishing aspects as over the course of the moons cycle the new moon allows things to pass, be energised and then be gone.

A nice way to say 'Hello' to your cards after cleansing.

In between readings or if somebody has touched your cards or if you wish for a fresh start with your deck you can simply knock on your deck visualising your energy going into the cards and pushing out the previous energy within. In doing this you will also ‘Wake Up’ the energy within the cards as well as imputing your own.
